It was summer. A crow was very thirsty. He flew here and there in search of water. Suddenly he saw a pitcher. There was a little water at the bottom of the pitcher. The crow tried to drink the water but could not drink it. He then tried to overturn the pitcher but failed again. He saw some pebbles nearby. At last the crow hit upon a plan. He picked them up and dropped one by one into the pitcher.The water soon rose up to the brim. The crow drank water to its heart’s content. In this way he quenched his thirst and flew away happily.

It was summer. A crow was very thirsty. He went out in search of water. He flew here and there. Suddenly he saw a pitcher. He flew to the pitcher. But he found that there was a little water at the bottom of the pitcher. The crow tried again and again but could not reach the water with his beak. He then tried to overturn the pitcher. But his strength was not equal to the task. “How can I drink water? ” said the crow to himself. He was very sad. But the crow was very clever. He saw some pebbles at a short distance. He hit upon a plan. He picked the pebbles up with his beak and dropped one by one into the pitcher. The water soon rose up to the brim. The crow drank water to its heart’s content. In this way he quenched his thirst and flew away happily.

The Thirsty Crow
Once a crow was returning from his friend’s village. It was a very hot summer day. The sun was blazing. It was as if the sun was raining fire-flames on the earth’s surface. The crow was flying for a long time. He was very thirsty. He flew here and there in search of water. But to his disappointment, he couldn’t find a single drop of water. The heat made him more tired and thirsty. He was too thirsty to caw. It was a miserable condition for him. He prayed to God for some water.
Suddenly, he saw a jungle some distance away and he flew in that direction. While flying in the jungle, he suddenly saw a pitcher under a tree. He came down and peeped inside the pitcher. He was very delighted to see that the pitcher had water in it. “Thank God! My prayer has been granted,” he said to himself. He leaned to quench his thirst. But he couldn’t reach it with his beak. But he found that there was a little water at the bottom of the pitcher. The crow tried again and again but could not reach the water with his beak. He then tried to overturn the pitcher. But his strength was not equal to the task. “How can I drink water? ” said the crow to himself. He was disheartened. “How unlucky I am! Even after I found water I am unable to drink,” he thought.
But the crow was very clever. He saw some pebbles scattered near the pitcher. On seeing the pebbles, an idea occurred to him. He flew to the pebbles and picked up one of them and dropped it into the pitcher. He continued his task of picking up the pebbles and dropping them into the pitcher one by one. Gradually, the water level in the pitcher rose up to the brim. The effort of the crow was successful. Now he could drink water with his beak. The crow drank water to its heart’s content. In this way he quenched his thirst and flew away happily.
Moral : Where there is will, there is a way.
